National Library Week 2010

 

Coordinated by The Ministry of Education

& Library Services of Fiji. This year’s theme

is ‘Communities Thrive @ Libraries”. The

National Library Week will be celebrated

from 17th to 24th July.

 

The Fiji Library Association contributed

towards this years Library Week

celebrations by designing and printing

1000 posters to be distributed to all

libraries and schools in Fiji.

FLA Host Evening: Koha Library Management Systems

 

Thursday (24 June) starting at 5:30 pm, the Fiji Library Association presents a host evening examining the open source Koha library management system.

 

Venue: USP Library Conference room (Library foyer)

 

Speakers:

Pam Bidwell: An introduction to library management systems; Minimum Koha requirements (with contributions from Eleanor Kleiber and Vikash Gounder); Using Koha in teaching

 

Verenaisi Babitu: Navigating the Koha system

If you are considering starting or resuming Library/Information studies courses this semester, come along to a Questions and Answers session starting at 4:30 the same day (also in the USP library conference room).

 

Liviana Tabalala and Pam Bidwell will help students complete the application form, introduce the courses, give study tips and answer general questions about your study plans, and show resuming students how to enrol online for semester 2 courses.

 

This Q&A session finishes just before 5:30pm.
